Old Film:: Portrait of my Father

My father died 14 year ago from chronic lung disease. He smoked cigarettes and worked in heavy industry. This photograph of my father was scanned from a 6cm x 9cm film negative made by my paternal grandmother Elvie Ruth Bonner (1901-1986). I like this portrait for the shadows of my grandmother and aunt. I also like the hard shadow on the right side. I’m not sure where he was traveling, possibly to serve his national service.
