Old Film:: Uncle in a Bra, Skirt & Earings (1940s)

It looks like the husband of one of my aunties was a bit of a fooler. He donned bra, skirt and earings for a bit of a laugh. The photographs on this page are scanned from 6cm x 9cm film negatives that were made by my paternal grandmother Elvie Ruth Bonner (1901-1986). Tasmania was a hard place to make a living back in the 1940s and 1950s and a little humour goes a long way when you don’t have a lot in your pockets. I notice that he kept his manly shoes for the photographs. Sadly, my old aunties were strangers to me growing up. They were much older than my father and his brothers.
